When I try to read the result of an xml export I get the following error message "An invalid character was found in text content. Error processing resource ".

Anybody have an idea what I need to change in the dtd to read French characters ?

Thanks Smile

If you'd like me to take a look at it, attach it to an email to syntap@syntap.com. I'm not sure I'll have an answer but I'll check it out.

[looking at sent XML files]

I tried opening the XML file in two different programs... in Internet Explorer, it seems to choke on "PRÉSENTATION"... in Mozilla Firebird it opens fine but replaces the "É" with a question mark.

When I open the XML file in Windows Notepad, I see "PRÉSENTATION"... if this is what is in the Notes field in Time Stamp on your end, and if you open up the XML file in Windows Notepad and see "PRÉSENTATION" there, then my guess is that Time Stamp wrote out the file correctly and it's an interpretation problem with Internet Explorer (or whatever program was used to open it).

You're right. The original text isn't modified and is shown correctly with text editors. When we try to view the result in a browser, for exemple, the accents are misinterpreted.

I thought that the encoding parameter in the expression <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> was not the right one.

Thanks for your help. If I find the answer, I let you know. Smile

I finally got it to work... I opened the XML file in Windows Notepad, and used "Save As", setting the "encoding" option to UTF-8. Resaving the file with that made it show correctly in both Mozilla Firebird and Internet Explorer on my end. Can you verify that works on your end? The UTF-8 attribute stuff may depend on your version of Windows, but it appears to be available in the version of Notepad that comes with XP and 2000.

Setting the attribute to "unicode" didn't work for me... just UTF-8.
