|
|
Hi,
Is it possible to allow this in the note field window :
* Ctrl+A to select all the text
* Esc to close the window (without saving note)
* Ctrl+Enter to close the window (saving note)
And also allow the editing of a task on which the timer is on (to enter note, like we can do clicking in the note field)
We track all we do (included Phone Call) so when the phone rings, we have to :
* stop the timer (F10)
* start a new one (F9)
* enter the note (by click)
We the call is end we :
* stop the timer (F10)
* go to the previous task
* open it to copy the note field
* start a new timer
* paste the previous saved note
If we can do all of this by keyboard, it will really save time for our team.
Thanks for your reply. |

The note field keyboard shortcuts are in and will appear in the next final release. The keyboard shortcuts for entering the note field while timing are not in yet, as I believe there were reasons I didn't do this before. It may be that it somehow interfered with the start/stop functionality for the task. But my hope is you will see productivity gains from the Note field keyboard enhancements! |

I use more and more keyboard to work with TimeStamp.
I've done a little Script in Autoit that Hide and Unhide TimeStamp and I launch it with Clavier+ (a standalone tool to make shortcut on Windows).
So, only with Keyboard I can :
- Show TimeStamp (Win+T)
- F10 to stop the current Timer
- F9 to start a new one
- BUT... I need to click on the note field to enter what I will do
- Then Hide Time Stamp (Win+T)
I seen that Ctrl+L clear the note field. I don't find this useful.
But a shortcut (Ctrl+M for example) to show the note field will be a good add-on to this.
Can please take this in account as I really the Note Field is a good field to follow each task ???
Thanks a lot. _________________ Enjoy...  |

Ok, the modified file is here:
http://www.syntap.com/downloads/tsbeta.zip
Rename your current timestamp.exe to timestamp.bak or some such name, then copy the timestamp.exe from the zip file into that location and you should be good to go with all your saved preferences, etc. It should show version "3.21.2006-1021 beta." Let me know how it works, and if all is well I'll post it as a new final version. |

Thanks a lot for this beta !
The first thing I saw it's the Ctrl+N shortcut that have been replaced by Ctrl+P.
The Note field shortcut is Ctrl+M so why change the Ctrl+N ?
I will test it more...
Again, thanks for this shortcut version of the Note Field. _________________ Enjoy... |

I changed ctrl-N because I thought it would be too easy to hit it when trying to go for ctrl-M, and in fact I did it a couple of times. |

Hi SynTap,
On the version 3.21.2006-1021 beta, the Cancel button on the Quit and Save Dialog Box don't work.
I lost all my datas to discover this
Could you also set the Ctrl+N for new file ?!?
Thanks a lot ! _________________ Enjoy...  |

Fabrice,
Which quit and save dialog box are you referring to?
As for Ctrl-N, as I mentioned before I'm hesitant to place a potentially destructive keyboard shortcut command next to Ctrl-M... one of them has to move. |

Sorry, I wil try to explain.
If I work on a new file, when I quit TimeStamp ask me if I want to save : Yes, No or Cancel.
Yes : Save the file, then quit
No : Don't save the file, then quit
Cancel : Don't save the file, then quit
This is where the problem is. Cancel must stop the close process and return to TimeStamp.
Is it more clear ?!?
For the Ctrl+N and Ctrl+M, as I ask for this feature, you can set the Ctrl+M shortcut everywhere you want. It's something useful, not critical. _________________ Enjoy... |
