To restart timing for an existing task you click on it in the "Start" column.
This always used to work OK, but now, after a couple of starts and stops,
nothing happens. I then have to save, close the program, and re-open
it so that I can re-start the task in question. Most irritating.

Thinking that the program might have got corrupted somehow, I uninstalled
it, and then downloaded and installed the latest, updated version... but it's
behaving in exactly the same way. Perhaps something else is causing the
problem, but I don't know what it might be, because -- as far as I know -- I
haven't changed anything else recently that might be interfering with it.

Hmm, that's odd. Did you erase the INI file too when you uninstalled the program? I don't recall changing any behavior on the start column clicking but I'll check the code to see if anything there could be causing it.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but to clarify the issue, when you say nothing happens do you mean nothing at all in the program reacts when the start column item is clicked?

Honest answer to first question: I don't know. I uninstalled it via Control Panel, and then ran Crap Cleaner before installing the new version.

Yes, once this behaviour sets in nothing happens when I click in the start column, but the program's not actually locked up; I can save and exit OK.

Ok... just to rule an INI setting out, could you try deleting timestamp.ini from your Program Files\Time Stamp directory? Then restart Time Stamp and give it a shot.

Needless to say (!), since posting my query the program has been behaving itself properly, but I'll certainly try deleting the INI file, and report the results in due course. Many thanks.

So far, deleting the INI file certainly seems to have done the trick. Thanks again.
