Hi,

Has anyone here created documents/invoices using the XML data outputted by time stamp? I have no experience in XML, but I would love to use the xml functionality to streamline invoicing. It would be nice to see some of the invoice layouts other people in this community have done using XML data from timestamp...

I'm starting to play with OpenOffice.org's XFoms implementation... that may be something to look into. It's free for the trying!

I don't use the XML, but instead I export to delimited ASCII and run it through a Perl script to convert the data to the QuickBooks "timer" format. I then import the data to Quickbooks for generating invoices. Very nice for projects with a long list of events, and very nice for producing detailed activity reports on the invoice.

Only snag is matching the data to the QuickBooks projects, so I use two-letter prefixes in each event comment field which the script uses to match to a QuickBook customer:job item.

Someday maybe I'll code the change directly into Timestamp, but until then the Perl script is pretty painless.
